Hey people, before I put the new motor in my car I remember the old powersteering box leaking pretty bad where the rag joint connects to the steering box area. I was really considering dumping the power steering and going to manual. The car will be primarily be more strip than street anyways. My powersteering always leaked, whined, etc. do I just need a manual steering box and call it good or how does it work? Where can I get a manual steering box from? Thanks help appreciated

nosdelacruz,

Are you sure you want to change to manual? I believe that if you get a rebuilt steering box, this should eliminate the power steering fluid leak problem.

My steering box has a leak at the same spot. Kinda irks me as it slowwwly drips on the exhuast pipe if it sits for weeks and then i see smoke when i start it up, worried the heck out of me. not sure how hard it is to fix that issue.
