I have a spread-bore Motorcraft carburetor with D1ZF-ZA on the base. I thought all D1ZF-ZAs were Autolites. Maybe this was on a Cougar?

The "top" is not from a Boss 351, has Motorcraft cast on, top should not have lettering. I think your carb has an electric choke, also not Boss 351. The small hooks on the two Zs don't seem right, going from a very old memory. The top also uses the large thread filter, the Boss 351 used the small filter thread. It could be someone changed the top and the choke, or the whole carb could be bogus. Chuck

I recently purchased a box of assorted Mustang parts. This carb was one of the items. I agree the stamping looks suspicious but didn't know if it was an over the counter service item or intended for another Ford model.

Interesting. The Z’s are suspicious but perhaps a clone.

Thought you would like to know, I have 2 of them and one is the original for my car I am currently rebuilding. They are both motorcraft. Yes they are the 4100 spread bore. My car is the 351c cj Q code. I know it is original because I am the original owner.
