I got it out from behind the trees! Woot!! Washed off the dirt a little...and got all the leaves and spiders out of it...the car been sitting for more than 15 years...put a little marvel oil in the spark plug holes...let it sit...hooked up a half dead battery..And it spun right over..sounded good..No bangs or clanks...didnt spark at first..i ran a hot wire over to the coil..and got some to the distribitor..and with some starter fluid she tried to come to life!!. i didnt even expect that...lol...Couldnt find any rust holes or anything...I think it mite purr again.... quick vid i made today of my progress..Its too bad that tree messed up the door..But thank god..its only the door!!

Actually looks like it's in decent condition and well worth getting back on the road. Keep us posted on the progress.

Should be...Going today to try and get some spark and disconnect the gas tank and lines...It has a crazy fuel system...Going to post pics of...And try to figure it out...I thought it was a electric pump..But im starting to think its some kinda mechanical high pressure pump? It has a fuel regulator like a eletric pump hi pressure...But it has some odd lookin thing sticking off the block where the fuel pump should be...has hoses coming out of it...Its not like any fuel pump i seen...Yet..lol

Could be a special set up fuel pump so they could connect one of the hoses to someone else's gas tank to steal their gas back during the oil embargo!!! :D

Cool! Don't know much about design options, but Mach I trim/decals on a Mustang II? Crazy....

Doc
Yeah, Ford made the Mustang II Mach 1. They are sharp looking. Here is the brochure showing the Mach 1:

Wow. Thanks for the link, Mike. My buddy had a Mustang II, and I don't remember it being anything like a Mach. It would appear that Ford had an interesting marketing philosophy back then. :)

It has the Mach-1 side trim for sure , does it have a 5 in the vinnumber ??

I bought my wife a 1978 Mach1 a few months ago , it was a runner in verry solid state. if you have the V8 under the hood you have bought yourself a YeeeHaaaa car.

Verry fast !!

If you need anything that i can help you with , send me a message.

Yup..I checked the vin..its a mach 1..woot...But in 1974 was the only year of mustang without a v8 :( but some one stuck a big holley on it...And a rare offy high rise on it...Big headers.....And a pressure fuel regulator..I thought it had electric pump at first..But im finding some odd things...Maybe a fuel booster of some kind...I couldnt find any electrical wires yet runing too it like it should...not yet anyways..lol..It was some ones toy...I bet it has more HP than the stock v8 at the time anyways...with that 600cfm on it..it must of been pushing close too 220ish...maybe even more if its cammed and some one shaved the heads a bit....I even found the old hidden 1980's amp eq under the dash for the sterio..hehe..Brung me back..It still powered up..Sterio wouldnt thou...lol...Got to check fuse box and see what looks bad..Interior lights still turned on...It has some bugs..But going to hopefully breath a little life back into it.

Atleast it still has the special mach 1 steering wheel!! I almost thought it was a raced out replacement..Till i found a pic of the factory mach 1 wheel...I noticed on the add they dont show it....But they do talk about the steel wheel.

great car! I have a soft spot for the mustang IIs.
TY...I do too..I think its cause its not a popular mustang due to the emissons and smaller body....But its a damn good looking car when fixed up...And much better looking than the fox body stangs "By my opinion" ...lol..Its the fox body time too be the dated ugly child! lol ;)
