this was my 78 cobra II without the "cobra" Side stripes.
Nice vintage picture with the other oldie cars in the background. Is that one you wished you held on too?
Yep! Wish I still had it.

T-tops, real duals (no cats), light mods.

No prob stayin ahead of z-28s and TransAms in the day.

Ya...I allways liked them even know they wasnt my fav..But they got a place in my heart..Even know they are a nightmare to get the starter out of...Got to jack up the motor and stuff in the v8...lol..But they are really getting rare anymore...I rarely see them at car shows due to not being popular...I think they mite be the next mustang sleeper after our 1971-73..lol

My Mom had a '76 Mustang II hatchback... loved the little car. Of the two though, I preferred the Chevy Monza - just looked meaner.

However, my first car was an '82 Mustang GL hatchback. Sorry, but I'd still take a Fox body over an M-II any day.

You have a nice project going though - keep at it. That black Cobra II looks awesome, and it sounds like yours will be just as cool.

If it wasn't for the new Mustang II being introduced I probably would not have my 73 Convertible. I helped my high school and beyond girlfriend buy my 73 Mustang Convertible new from the dealer. When the 74 Mustang II came out she had to have one because it was smaller like the 65 Mustang she had before. The dealer did not want to give her very much for trading in the 73 Convertible so I bought it from her when it was less than a year old. I have kept it ever since. So that's why I like the Mustang II!

Lmao!!Thats a classic story...Nothing to do with a mustang ii and so off topic..but the trade in made me have a flash back..lol...We use to have a blue 73 mach 1 q code...My dads car...i was a teen..And he promised me that some day i could buy the car off him as my first car...Some guy kept chasing him around to buy it...He allmost started crying when my dad said no....He told the guy it starting to smoke a bit and probably needs a freshing up soon..Rings and such going....He said he didnt care.....my dad shot a insaine price of 5,000 at the time...In the 1980's that was unheard of for a mustang of our years unless it was a boss...The guy jumped on it....I was sooo pissed at my dad for selling it..I didnt say a word too him for a week..lol.....Then the guy had the nerve to chase down us 6 months later and say we ripped him off cause the motor needs to be rebuilt!! Some days you can never win huh? lol

After that the guy ran down too a car lot and traded it in for 500 bucks on a brand new..Top of the line...Ford Tarus!! Bahahahahahahha Bahhaahhahahahah <~~~instead of coming back and selling it back to us... ..And in the end...My dad got a red mustang ...One i got now..That i ended up buying from him when i was 18...lol...I realy think he got it just to make up for what happend when i was a teenager..lol...I dont think i ever in my life went a whole week with out talking to him...Just shows how much i loved these old cars...lol

Yeah, Ford made the Mustang II Mach 1. They are sharp looking. Here is the brochure showing the Mach 1:
