1973 Mustang Grande 351C 2V, built on the very last production day (July 6, 1973) for Grande's.
Hi guys,

I am at the side of the road right now waiting for assistance. I think my ignition is gone. Just incase I would very much like to know:

Where do you attach a towing chord or a hook to get it up a tow bed? This is for my 73 grande.

Thanks!

Vincent

to load it on an ANWB truck?

as its urgent, on top of my head, If you could get it from the rear, you can go from the Shackle kit (leaf springs connection to body).

or from the front, may be loose the radiator mounts, to lift the radiator a bit so you can go around the front section member and ensure its as low as possible.

Pulling slowly, there is no reasons something would get damaged.

Good luck m8!Hope it helps.

note to self: add on the todo a towing anchor.

On to a flatbed?  From the front,  wrap the straps/chains around the lower arm control close to the frame.  might need boards to lift the front up to clear the bumper/spoiler on to the flatbed ramp.

You mean that 1/2” horizontal bar?

rear axle , lower arm are is strong enough too, but not sure the valance would like that, as the tension will make the cord/chain go up toward the truck.

My shackle kit isn't original, and offer a great anchor, on front car is lowered, so i could not use the lower arms without damaging the front valance.

Its US made, so anything with size greater than 1 inch will do. Its all about the clearance you have.

While you wait, what did happen exactly? it just quitted without warning? Was unusually hot today...

no. The lower arm control. Keep the straps low so they clear the spoiler and or the rubber bumper.

I gently accelerated in front of the light, from a stop. I heard a tich and engine died. It cranks bit won’t fire. Hence I think ignition...

Do you have tools/voltmeter with you?

My wife told me I was nuts taking half garage with me when I go some places.

Till one day I fixed the car during a vacation trip to France in middle of nowhere. Never got a remark ever again :)

mmm, lets hope you will get help quickly then. Not much we can do for you Vinnie :(

[was just a little ride]

If you are near your garage, they may drop it there, as ANWB usually drive to the nearest garage if they can't fix/temp repair on the spot.

It was only a blown fuse thankfully! The mechanic didnt have one so he made a thick wire so I could drive home (5 min). He followed me back just incase, that was very kind!

I guess sortimg out the fuse box is my next project!

Thanks for all your seift replies giys, much appreciated!

Cheers,

Vincent
