I have inherited a set of 8 pistons and connecting rods for a 351C. I was looking through them yesterday and found that I have 2 number 8 connecting rods. Not sure how this happened, but here is my question. If I am having them all reconditioned can I run one of them in the missing number 7 position?

Sure can, the rods are all the same. If you're reusing the pistons, make sure the chamfer is facing the fillet when installed.

They are numbered so the caps can be kept with the rods they were machined with. I would add a dot or other mark to one set of the #8s so you can keep them as a set.
