Back on July 31, I posted to vent some frustration and bad news in another thread. My son’s ‘69 Coupe had been rear ended. I knew there was going to be an insurance fight, and got prepared. By the end of August we learned things were going to turn out OK. We had a healthy check from the insurance company and a plan forward. We figured out a plan to repair and repaint the entire car. He will have some money left over for some upgrades, so it really turned out well for the car. My son is still dealing with some issues from the accident, but he is doing OK.

We subcontracted the frame pull and the rear body panel replacement, but otherwise my son and I did all the work. Today we finally made it to paint application. I did most of the painting but I did have a co-worker apply the clear to the body and fenders while I cleared a bunch of other parts in the other spray booth. No shame in handing the gun over to an expert.

I know it isn’t a 71-73, but it’s what we have! A few pics from today’s work, some with clear, some still in base.

That looks great! One of my favorite colors on the 69 coupes. I've always thought a red coupe, lowered 1", with Magnum 500s and fat tires looks aggressive.
