Rear fold down seat frame - what colour ?

hi folks i am restoring my rear fold down seat. the folded metal section has a grain like metal surface and mine has surface rust that i am trying to remove. 

I've noticed that the metal surface colour is not black, but a very dark almost charcoal like colour. Anyone know what colour this is and have they replicated this successfully ?

Would be same paint as used on the console or the dash. Ford used same semi gloss black with some metallic in it from 65 - 73. Any Mustang supply will have it. Best to strip all the old paint off so you do not fill in the grain texture.

thank you. i will take a look, i tihnk i have a rattle can somewhere with that metallic black that i used for a dash section.
