So good news bad news…mostly good news…
Good news:
My brother and families down there are safe and not harmed. The eye was less that 20 miles from one house and less that 15 from the other….both have roof damage, the closer house has more water damage inside. My brothers house has garage leaks and about 25 gallons of water in one bedroom that came through a window assembly…there is a tree hanging over my brothers house at a 45 degree angle…He owns an airplane, Hangered at Venice airport. They had 100 mph winds, the hangers were not even tropical storm rated.Most hangers are down, his is damaged with panels blown our, and the door off the hinges, so the door is leaning and in danger of falling. The airplane might be ok, it wasn’t safe to get in and do an inspection. If he can get the door safely removed without collapsing anything, he can probably roll the plane it to a tie down for inspection….

they have no infrastructure, was able to get one text and one call out to me. They do have a generator to keep the fridge cold and a few other things…but no phone or internet or fuel or businesses or power…

bad news…he won’t be coming to paint the car…..I might do it myself….

I decided to paint the car myself….next week is zero rain, highs in the 70-80’s, and everything is ready….wet sanded the rest of the parts and the car…set up supplies and tools at shop, got air lines run vacuumed and cleaned a lot! Added hooks for guns and accessories….

Will be washing the car and trailering it over tomorrow along with the loose body pieces….

So I painted some small parts a day or two ago and had a lot of Fishies, and traced it to my new airline which is contaminated. I put the old air line back on and do not have problems, but I’m going to have to redo a bunch of small parts. I started painting the main body tonight and it went fairly well except for a few runs so I’m going to pause and try to fix the runs before I paint the second color on the bottom of the car. Overall my progress is OK since I have never painted a car before but my skill level is lacking. But I think everything is recoverable, it’s just gonna take a little effort.
