I wetsanded the fenders, did some minor adjustments and resprayed them…also removed trunk lid for some sanding….and worked more on the passenger quarter panel to door fitment…..

Lol. Well not really. I am finishing some quarter panel body work, the doors are on it. The fenders are off for primer and some edge painting. The hood is on to align the fenders when they go back on. The trunk lid is off for sanding the inside of the lid prior to paint…when I roll it in the booth to paint, the fenders and doors will be on to paint the 2 tone, but hood and trunk lid will most likely be off…

Mechanically the car is whole and ready to go. The interior is stripped till after paint….

Hard to see here, but adding color to hard to reach areas, I did wimbleton white, and will add some grabber blue in the morning. Then I can mount fenders on car and move forward. Also did inside of Body color front bumper and inside of trunk lid, so when i go to booth we only have to spray one side….

Added blue to lower edges, mounted on car, have a few nicks and runs but nothing too bad…

I have been having a hard time getting the front panels to align, this 51 year old car is nor quite straight….my brother came to town, and we ended up modifying a hood hinge, shimming the other, and modified fender mount points…I had to move the passenger fender out 1/4 inch to get the rotation we needed to get the hood aligned across the front…it’s not perfect, but pretty good….good enough, final tweak before paint starts tomorrow!

It can be frustrating but taking the time to get it aligned now will pay off big once it's painted.

Hood sanded, primed and sanded again. All final body tweaks done, primed and wet sanded. Last step is wetsand all color overspray.
and dodge hurricanes that are about to screw up my plans….my brother is here to help.

And yes, I sanded the skin off 6 fingers…to the point of bleeding….
