besides the obvious differences

seat latch lock location , material patterns, and possible seat track mounting

does anyone know if the 69-70 hi back mach 1 style seats

are much different from the 71-73 ?

I currently have the 69 style seat, but it can get uncomfortable during a longer ride.

are the 71-73 seats wider ? more comfortable?

or basically the same frames?

thanks

The frames are different. A quick look at the '69 frame doesn't show the differences very well, but there are some pretty significant differences.

are they wider in the seat area?

They are close to the same size

Nothing will inter-change between them

Comfort-wise they are about the same too

I believe all Mustang front seats from 64.5 through 2004 fit the same floor pan holes and thus can be installed quite easily.

71-3's do not have floor pan holes for the seats

You're kidding? How do they attach to the body then?

Studs and bolts. The late models do the same. Studs in the floor front mounts, the rear of the seat tracks use bolts

Although a couple of my project cars do have holes in the floor
