temp for torque

seems like stupid question but I will ask anyway. Does temperature make any difference when torquing bolts?:idea: Now with colder temps in my garage is it any concern?

I cant find anything to back me up but I believe that if it is warm enough for you to be able to stay out and work on it the the temp would not effect it enough that you could tell a difference. One way to find out would be to torque something together in the garage that you could take inside to warm up to room temp and try re torqueing it.

With Iron and steel having similar expansion and contraction rates you should not have any problems. I doubt any engine materials would pose a problem.
