New carb but what are the good brackets for that? Will the same as for 4150 & 4160 go? And even there are options. Share your experience, please.

Most intakes will have a provision to use the factory bracket. I'm using the factory part on the Torker intake on my 351C. Crummy quality from a screen grab of a video I took. I did fab some spacers for under the bracket to correct the geometry.

The stock-style kickdown rod doesn't need a bracket. Here is what I'm using for my 351C, FMX and QF carb:

Kickdown rod:

Linkage to 4150-style carb:

NPD has kick-down rod options for the C6 and other combinations.

I'm using a repop throttle linkage too, with stock throttle bracket on the intake. NPD has several bracket options too, but didn't see a factory-style bracket.

351C uses the same throttle bracket 2V or 4V. The Performer has provisions for the stock bracket.

You will need the ball stud kit to connect the factory throttle cable to the carb.

The kickdown rod on the 4V is longer as the axis of the primary throttle shaft is further forward than on the 2V engine, so if you're using the 2V kickdown, you need the Holley 20-91 extension bracket that Chuck posted.

Looks nice. You can get aluminum spacers off eBay too, for those of us lacking in fab skills. In high school we would just stack fasteners!

So, is that what I need, or is it overkill?

Gentlemen,
I have the carb, and figured out the brackets. However, the manual says: This carburetor is not designed for use with any Ford automatic overdrive transmission. SEVERE transmission damage may result from improper application use.
Well, I do have AOD installed. Why do they prohibit it? I can set the kickdown connection and amplitude the same way as it was in the Edelbrock.
Any experiences with this restriction here? What can happen and how?

Pretty good reading, thank you! Many good points to learn. However, my concern is a bit different.

I can make the bracket that would work as it would with any other carb. If the bottom hole will give the amplitude needed (will it?) the AOD should work.

There cannot be any other issue than mechanical, right? That puzzles me - why this warning?
If I can get the AOD cable stretched as it needs to then what can go wrong?

That warning is for people that will just throw the appropriate stud in that lower hole and think it's ready to go. You can use the Holley lever you posted earlier. Lokar, Sonnax and others make a simple bolt on bracket for the Holley with an AOD.

Sonnax notes the proper pull dimension for the TV cable in the instructions for their bracket.

Finished it up last night, but not test-driven yet.
