Torque Converter Replacement

Hi all,
Car: 1972 Mustang Base
Engine: 351 Cleveland
Transmission: MFX

I need to replace my torque converter and I went with a VEGE Remanufactured Torque Converters FM43 Part # CCV-TQFM43 from Summit Racing. I could not find a torque converter for the MXF, only C6. My question, is this a good replacement? Do you think this will work?

I bet a torque converter for the FMX would work pretty well for you MFX transmission.

I think TCI offers a new torque converter. As far as a transmission reprogramming kit, or, "shift kit", the company Trans-Go has all that you need from mild reprogramming to all out manual shift race kits.

A lot of companies offer replacement converters for the FMX. There's a couple dozen on summit. I think OP got a little dyslexic and was searching for something that didn't exist.

FM43 is for a C6, FMX usually uses FM27 (66-76) or FM47 (77-up). There are a couple other applications.

IMO, Precision of New Hampton is the go-to for stuff like this.

There are all manner of rebuilt torque converters for the FMX. Here is one example from JEGS
