Apologies if this has been covered a hundred times before, but the tyres on my 72 Mustang are quite narrow and don't fill the wheel arch. They are 215/60/15 on the front and 215/65/15's on the rear.

Could anyone please tell me if I could fit BF Goodrich Radial T/A 235/70 R15 on my Magnum 500 rims?

Here is a pic of my 72 with the tyres on it at the moment.

With 7' wide wheels I'd run some 225/60/15's on the front and some 245/60/15's on the rear. The rear end could really use some 8' wide wheels and wider tires, but this is what I recommend with what you have. 275/60/15's in the rear look like they should belong on a truck as they are quite tall.

I have 255/60/15 on my original 7x15 Magnums on all 4.

Fits like a charm, fills the wheel wells and clears the fenders (edges not rolled).

Looks pretty badass.

I don't have a pic on my phone right now but search for my thread "Luxstang goes old school".

My '73 has 15x7's and 235-60's on the front and 255-60's on the rear. Work fine.

In the UK a good supplier for USA rubber is North Hants Tyres (Tires to you Americans ;))

Just for reference, in case the thread cannot be found.

255/50/15 on original 15x7 Magnums on all 4 corners. No rubbing at all,, no rolled fenders, no spacers.

Don´t mind the fact that the rims are black, I painted them that way because they were in really bad shape.

Thanks for your help, I'm going to order BF Goodrich 255/60/R15s and 235/60/R15s with raised white letter.

Thanks for this, I'm ordering them from here.
Great, pop some pics up when you have them fitted.

The Raised White letters will be Blue when they arrive but will respond well to a little soap & water!

North Hants also carry a nice Chrome Valve for not much ££, adds greatly to the look if you don't have them already?

If you have to buy new ones, go15x8 front and 15x10 at the rear. Or at least 15x8 on all 4. They look way better than the 7 inch wide ones.
