Drove the car to Milan Dragway for the NMCA race, approximately a 320 mile round trip. We met the Roush drag racing team. What a nice group of people. The car ran flawlessly both there and back and turned 165,000 miles on the clock.

I hit the 650 mile mark since I got my Sprint.....ok I know thats not a recognized milestone but it has been fun!
Congrats on your mile stone, driving a super clean Sprint sounds like fun to me.

Brought the short block (block, pistons, crank, cam, oil pump, water pump installed) home finally and back in her engine stand. Yahoo! Now, just need to finish the heads and put the rest of her back together. Progress, baby!::chili:::banana:
Doc congrats on the progress of your short block. Love that Ford blue.

Today I walked outside, looked at my car, realized it was ten thousand degrees outside, then walked back inside.

I need a garage.
I've been that way just about all summer here in Virginia, lots of little odds and ends I wanted to do to the car but been too hot, even in the garage. Maybe this fall .........

After waiting a week for the primer to set, started painting the tie rods and associated hardware so I have a starting point at front end alignment. Can't wait to have a finished front end to bolt them to.

It'll look snappy! Trust me - I took the lazy way out though, and just bought a Super Suspension Kit from LMM.

I sanded the underside of my roof today to prepare it for the liquid sounddeadener thats coming tomorrow. I then cleaned my garage of all of the debris to get ready to install my vinyl roof. Thanks to you guys I now have the courage and the support I need to do it myself. Now if I can just figure what holes the headliner rods go into. LOL

Hoping to pick up the organ donor frame from Oxford this weekend. So I got the carts and that side of the garage ready for it. Told my compressor it had better rest up. :p

I forgot where the headliner bows went in my fastback, but after looking at them really close it's kind of a no-brainer on where they go. Longest to the back, shortest to the front. I tried swapping them around in different configurations but they literally only fit one way.

Good luck!

Oh no, what I meant is there are 3 holes in each place for your headliner bows to go in. Which hole do I use?
Well, if the original finish is still on then mine was easy to find because they were scratched up. I'm planning on using the holes that keep the headliner tight to the insulation.

ETA: my headliner isn't in but the bows are. I can snap a picture of the original orientation of the bows if you want.

Spent a couple hours getting the welder dialed in. I have some time this next week so hopefully can get alot of the welding done.

Cleaned up some more rough edges and got the firewall and intermediate panel patches secured with tek-fasteners after 'blasting them and coating with weld-thru primer.

Gonna fire up the new Miller welder tomorrow and get those patches nailed down for good. Then final-fit the floor pans and zap them in as well. Once that's done, clean up my [anticipated] crappy-looking welds, run some seam sealer and slather on some more Rust Bullet - I still have a ton of that left from doing the front end (I bought the gallon-size, and don't want it to go bad... I'll get more for the final coat of the front clip after I get the cowl repairs done).

Cut more metal off the front until I broke my last blade. Then removed the entire wiper assembly and re-assembled the tie rods for storage. Nice to work with new and fresh paint for a change! :)

Lookin' good, markmel!

I got the firewall patches, passenger-side intermediate panel, and passenger-side floor pan installed. Also got the driver-side floor pan set in-place (zapped down with some tek-fasteners) and ran out of time today. I'll be welding in the last floor pan and sealing tomorrow.

If everything goes well, I should be done [finally] with that sub-project.

Mister 4 X 4

What exactly are these tek-fastners your referring to? I'm going to have to replace some panels, so if there is something that makes it easier, I'm game. Knuckle dragger not a body man by any stretch of the imagination.
