Thanks @YellowHorse. I think I will have to chase some of those holes with a tap. They look a little crusty.
Definitely chase those holes.
If you looking for lug nuts, OEM were 2-1/8" you can find similar crown lug at about 1.9 or 2 ".

All of the engine components are back in the garage this afternoon, save for the block, which is still at the shop awaiting main bearing saddle line hone, cylinders bored / honed, and lifter bores bushed. I will be documenting the build and posting it here on the7173 Mustangs site. The actual assembly will be done here at home in the garage, each step explained and photographed.
Anyway , I just picked up all of the rotating assembly , which I had at the balance shop. Soon......."

Spike is this the build that is going to feature the Aussie heads that you talked about before?
Yes, the Aussie heads got me started in the first place! The heads will be run " as is", that is, NO PORTING, just bronze guides ( K-Liners ), hardened seats, new stainless single groove lock valves, springs to go with the new cam ( very mild roller ), and the screw-in stud/guideplate conversion. There's a lot of various mods being done, yet not for horsepower per se. The head swap is to gain more efficient "quench", than the open chamber 2v heads offer, custom dished pistons will drop the C/R to pump gas friendly numbers. My original engine is still in the car and will remain until the new engine ( obviously, a complete different engine ), is ready to transplant. I'll make the swap in a weekend. I do engine assembly for a living, so this will be a kinda fun, do it at home, build up.

Between my wife's accident and the weather, I've been couped up inside for the past 4 months breathing stale air. So today, I decided to go out into the garage, fire up the stang and stick my nose by the exhaust to get some fresh air - Ahhh - what a refreshing experience.

Hope you're wife and you are holding up well.

Picked up my second baby 850mi away from home. And gave it good salt bath towing through snow in the Virginian mountains and snow in the west Michigan. Surprisingly and thankfully 3.5 twin turbo Explorer did very well with 5,500 behind it through Appalachian mountains.

Congrats! Are you going to save it? The damage looked repairable.

Nice! New to you or being stored in another place?
New to me. Was southern car for all of its life and unfortunately had fo go through salty wet roads. Will be undergoing extensive undercarriage and body wash. After that will store it untill have time to rebuild with my kids.
Now both boys will have one mustang each after I kick the bucket.

I will repair it. All of my new cars (usually buy them 1-2 years old) are and were salvage. This Mustang not that bad compared to what I had to deal with with some.
It might not be a car that is valuable to others with rebuilt tile, but it will be valuable to my boys and I with the time we will put into it.

Explorer had front end smashed.
Genesis ungercarage and wheel ripped off.

I swappped out my front springs, along with shocks, upper ball joints, shaft kits 2 days ago & drove it again today. I had to find my battery hold down for further testing ..lmao. Those are 1" lowered springs in the front. stock coils were .650 diam replacements .720. The rears are the 5leaf standard eye stock replacement it brought the back up 1" however lowering the front brought them back down a bit. Nice ride, nice and rigid w/ no bottoming out. I need to replace a variety of bushings in the original competition suspension ...yet to come.

Sounds like a good plan for both the build and the legacy for your boys.

New wheels and tires today. I’ve wanted Magnum 500s pretty much ever since I’ve had the car. I’m really happy with them, and since the tires aren’t 15 years old anymore I can now drive the car at highway speeds. I’m happy to report that everything is nice and smooth, even at 80. Also, the machine shop called and said to bring the rest of my engine. I only dropped off the heads, crank and block so they all must have checked out good on the replacement Cleveland.

I washed a couple cars today. The 69 got to see soap and a rag for the first time since last summer. The 73, I dont think its been washed since the mid-90s. The blue one cleaned up pretty nice. Here's a shot of the driver's side cleaned and the passenger side still dirty.

That looks really good. Magnums are a timeless design for our cars.

Tackling connecting the center gauges today. Not original to the car but the PO installed them but never connected them. I got a temp and oil sender and will be connecting them to the IVR. Sending the ammeter and idiot lights cluster to be retrofitted to RCCI to voltmeter and tach. Will post how it went.
