Will this combination work?

A 255/60 will not fit on an 11" rim, I can only assume that you mistyped something?

I have 255/60/15s on 15x8 wheels, can't imagine they would fit properly on the size you listed.

You can't put such a small tire on a 11" wide wheel.. I'm going with 19"x11" in rear and I'm wrapping the wheels with a 305/30-19" tire.. I've measured my rear wheels with a 5.5" backspace, I think you will begin to run into troubles with a 5" backspace, you will have to go measure by your self, that will be the best.. But don't put a 255 tire on a 11" wide wheels, it will look really bad, the tire will sit 1,5" from the wheel lip from both sides or so and it will be allmost impossible to install the tire on a wheel in that size.. Do you have a link to that add, something must be wrong.. :)

I agree - the 255s won't work with anything bigger than an 8" rim. I have 295s on 15x10 rims with 4 1/4" backspace, and they stick out just a little too much.

Others have run 295s on 15x10 rims with 5" backspacing, and that seems to be the minimum limit of backspacing for 'no rub' issues. 15x11 rims will push the outer bead 1/2" further out, which will eventually rub when the suspension flexes.

Hmmm - wow. Kinda hard to tell. If those are 255s, the sidewalls are pushed way out.

Here's what 245/60R15s look like on 15x8s

And 295/50R15s on 15x10s

These might give you an idea of how deep the rims are, and how close the rears are to the wheel well openings.

If that's the look you want, go for it. I'd be leery of those rear tires if they are indeed 255s on such wide rims, though. You'll want to stiffen or boost up the rear end a bit (I now have some 1" longer Scott Drake shackles - good for only about a half-inch of height).

As well, if you have front disc brakes, you'll want to test-fit those 14" rims to ensure they clear the calipers (they probably will, but not all aftermarket 14" rims will automatically clear them - stock rims from the time may not as well).

Personally, I think if they want that much money for those rims and tires, they should've cleaned them up a bit better. Good luck.

Hope this helps.

What about for the rear 15 x 10 rims with 4" back spacing? and 15 x 8-1/2 rims on the front with 4" backspacing?

Based on what everyone has said, 295/50/15 tires on the back and 245/60/15 on the front?

This is similar to Mister 4x4's set up. What about rub, looks, etc? Never thought wheels could get so complicated!

15x10s w/5" backspacing is the minimum backspacing you'll want to ensure no rubbing. There are wheels out there with more backspacing... but not Cragars. My 15x10s have 4.25" backspacing - which is why they stick out so far.

Austin Vert has some 15x10 Magnums with 5" backspacing that fit a LOT better with minimal rub. MeZapU has some 15x10s with 5.5" backspacing that fit even better.

Again, mine are 245/60R15s on 15x8s up front, and 295/50R15s on 15x10s w/4.25" backspacing on the rear.

So the 4" backspaced rims/tires would stick out 1/4" farther than yours show in the pictures, right?
If they're 15x10s on the rears, yes.

Might not seem like a lot, until you hit a pretty good dip in the road at speed.

I haven't spent a lot of time measuring things on these cars but they look to be pretty happy with pretty close to a 0 offset front and back, that would be a 5.5" backspacing on a 10" rim.

What I don't know is how far you can go on the inside before you start hitting/rubbing, anyone have a wheel/tire combination that you know a backspacing or offset on that hit/rubbed on the inside?

That would be good info. Can anyone let us know about inside rub and what backspacing?
