Can't discern much from the one photo, except that it looks like the car may be painted a different color than that seen in the door sill.I have never restored a car, and do not even have the skill...but want to do both. I found this 1973 Mach 1 and the owner swears EVERYTHING is original. He is asking $6000. Do you believe this is a VERY good deal? I am in Michigan and would have to fly to Alabama to even see the car.
Sorry...i thought the other pic uploaded too...here it is...any help on this would be appreciated. Can't discern much from the one photo, except that it looks like the car may be painted a different color than that seen in the door sill.I have never restored a car, and do not even have the skill...but want to do both. Did Ford ever paint the hood in that black out scheme? I thought it was solid black in the center.Sorry...i thought the other pic uploaded too...here it is...any help on this would be appreciated. Can't discern much from the one photo, except that it looks like the car may be painted a different color than that seen in the door sill.I have never restored a car, and do not even have the skill...but want to do both. That is not the original paint. The side stripe doesn't look right, either.Did Ford ever paint the hood in that black out scheme? Could be that the fender is a replacement and the holes weren't drilled properly. With one tab broken it should still look right. A picture of the passenger side would be interesting to see.Get a picture of the Data Sticker on the door. This looks like another late production car with the regular vinyl inserts instead of the knit vinyl. Also we can decode everything for you and see what options it has as far as Engine, axle and trans. I am guessing H Code 351 2v with a C6 and 3.25 rear end non locking. The more I look it looks like the seats were recovered they look overstuffed and a little crooked. Stripes on the side are correct just look sloppily installed and the Mustang script is correct but crooked I am guessing one of the mounting tabs is broken off, there are three that are held to the fender with barrell clips
i appreciate everyone's response...he did tell me it was a 351 'H' with C6 and 9" read...and provided the attached. i have also included another pics.Could be that the fender is a replacement and the holes weren't drilled properly. i like that idea...is there anyone who is a member who could check this out for me in the Athens Alabama area? Even for a fee?Maybe there is a forum member who lives close by to this car and could check it out for you.
Funny stuff right there! If it were nearby I'd be happy to check it out.My first thought was Don but since he hasn't all ready bought it, it must not be in his neighborhood. Sure enough he's about six hours away. Athens is right on the Tennessee border.
all he is showing me that he has when i asked for the VIN was that blue document i have in the photos above. it appears to be a Bill Of Sale.Funny stuff right there! All cars prior to 1974 do not have Aabama titles. All you'd get is the registration and a bill of sale. Other states DMVs know this. If not point them to the AL Dept of Revenue website and it will point it out for them.
