Mike,

Looking real nice. Glad to see the car back in the garage and getting the attention it needs. What type of time table do you have for getting her back on the road?

Nice progress Mike. Thanks for posting the update pics.

I really like the clean, original look of your car. More like the cars looked that I saw back when they were new.

Here some pics of the parts cars that are being used. Parts car #1 72 sprint sports roof. Sorry no pics. #2 72 Grande. this car had no rust, kinda feel bad for throwing it away.:s #3 72 Mach 1, parts car now may become project later. #4 73 Coupe, This car was sold to member MBeauchamp for his Coupe to convertible project. The 2nd pic is when it was being shipped to Canada. #5 72 pink Coupe,a car I picked up from member GibsonJunk. This car helped a few members with there projects.

After the rust in the cowl and engine bay was done. Time for the rear quarters. Starting with the right side.

I thought the rust spot between the right rear tire and door was going to be the hardest spot to repair. Nope it went real easy.

Just as I'm getting started on the left side I was thinking how am I going to clean up the underside. So I started looking to rent a rotisserie. No one rents them and I was not going to spend 1.700 on something that I would use for a month or 2. Well about the time I was looking around for a rotisserie there was a post here about building one. One of our members posted that he made one out of 8 sheets of plywood. At first I shook my head nope but the more I thought about it the more I thought why not!

Now that the car was up on it's side I got busy sanding and repairing the left quarter. Then I finished up with priming, under coating then painting it satin black. It felt good to get something completed.

Well it's back on the ground. Time to move on to the next thing. The trunk and tail light panel. But before I can remove the tail panel I had to call in the pro, my brother. At some point the car got bumped in the right quarter. So before I can remove the tail panel It needed a little hammer and dolly work to put the quarter put back where it belonged. Since he was over the house I had him take care of my screw up. When wielding in the patch on the left quarter I got it to hot and warped the panel.:s It only took Him a few minuets with a torch and a slap file fix my screw up. Before he left he gave me a tip about removing the tail panel. He recommended not drilling out the spot welds on trunk corner drip rails so not to loose their integrity. But to grind the panel off from the backside.
