351 Cleveland Overheating Issued

Did they give you the correct thermostat for your restrictor? Sometimes they don't match up because they are not the correct style. Does it have a hat? There are a couple of different sizes of the proper style. Check this out too.

Hello and thank you for all the input!! I swapped out the cap to a 13psi, changed the thermostat to a 195 degree and the car is happy. 190-205. Can’t thank you all enough !!!

Just rebuilt my 351 Cleveland have a TMeyer thermostat (180) new high volume water pump radiator is good, fan Shroud all good. The top hose does get as hard as a rock though. Runs around 205-210??

Is it hot at idle or hiway speed?
Invest in a cheap IR thomometer and use it to trace the coolant flow thru the system. Look for any spots on the radiator that show signs of blockage or that are much cooler than the rest.
Start at the sending unit and make sure the 205-210 is a correct reading.

Hi, I'm Brad. I read the article listed at this link below in an above response. It is great information. Just one question unanswered in the article. Of the TWO size hats listed for Ford in the article, which size is correct for the 351-C engine?

The Robert Shaw .687 333-192 is the one I used. My engine is running between 185-200. Also 13psi radiator cap
