Ok so alot has changed over the last couple years which brings me to the 408 build. I'm keeping it carbureted for now since I just spent decent money on a new Edelbrock avs2 carb and holley fuel pump and regulator assembly. I may change to EFI someday, but not now.

So my question is, should I keep the new Edelbrock 750 cfm carb that was on the original cleveland (that is done) or go to an 850? . I'd like to stay at 700 hp at most since my rear end and TKX transmission are rated to 750. My engine builder of course wants me to go to a 950 but I'd rather not go that much..

What kind of life will your Stag live; street, strip, both?

That 750 edelbrock will not even come close to feeding 700hp.
If you can afford to build a 700hp 408 Stroker you should be able buy the proper carb to feed it. Otherwise the whole motor will suffer.

My 408 is running around 600hp with AFD heads and custom cam. I have a 900 or 950 Quick Fuel carb on it if I remember correctly.
Been planning on going EFI when I put mine back together.

Can I ask how you are going to get 700hp from a 408? Are you adding turbos or a supercharger? Not at all putting a 408 but I have just never seen a naturally aspirated one put out 700hp. Just curious.
