Has anyone tried the adjustable PCV valve from M/E Wagner? If so, what benefits did you see. If someone has tried one on an engine with an aggressive cam, I would be interested in the results. Thanks, Chuck
 
I had this and didn't see any benefits. Still the vacuum was sucking oil off the valve cover. I can let mine go for half the price if someone wants it. I have the valve and the original box with instructions and springs. Edit: I may keep it just in case so ignore this message.

I don't have one, but researched it a bit. You can use this in lieu of drilling the butterflies or opening the secondaries to bring in more air in a long duration/low idle vacuum situation. Perhaps an alternative to the Barry Grant Idle Eze kit?

408C, closed chamber heads. 10.4 cr. Edelbrock torker single plane and Quick fuel Brawler w 4 corner idle mix adjust.
Hydraulic roller .576/.588 224/[email protected] 110 Lsa.
15"hg @800 rpms and hot idle @ 13.5 afr.
Base timing @14btdc.
Will run a little more base timing when I can get a bushing made for my msd distributor or find a little better fuel.
Me Wagner does recommends using a pcv catch can with their valve, I did so and have accumulated about 1/2 teaspoon in my last 100 miles.
I like the valve and have made no mods. to the Brawler idle or transition circuits.
Edit 770 cfm/ vacuum secondary.

Yes. I posted a thread about my new engine with a rear main seal leak. Cleveland Crush recommended that adjustable PCV valve. I installed it along with a Moroso air oil separator. The leak stopped at idle and it leaks a little while driving. More adjustments needed. I needed to move the horn to the other side of the washer reservoir and fab some 1/4 inch bushings cut at an angle to offset the slope of the shock tower to level the oil air separator.

The reading was over several different posts when I was researching different causes for an off-idle stumble with holley carb. The Speed-Talk forum had some relevant info, as did racingfuelsystems. I opted not to get the tunable PCV. I tested different PCV valves using info found online along with the number stamped into the weight inside of the PCV to judge airflow. I decided it was more economical for me to drill the butterflies and buy an undrilled set if that approach didn't work out. So far, I'm happy with the drilled butterflies.
 
I have the Wagner valve and after getting the adjustment right I think it has helped my motor as well. I have decent size cam and not a lot of vacuum so the adjustment came in handy. I think they are a few old threads on here as well
 
Tnfastbk, In what way did it help? Idle quality, idle speed, light throttle acceleration? Thanks, Chuck
 
It seemed to eliminate the leak I had at the rear main seal after installation. Seems with the 408 kit that's a common problem leak. I think it reduced the internal crank case pressure. I used to have an oil smell during/after driving which went away as well. It could all be in my head but its been on so long now that I had forgotten about it until this came up. LOL
