I came across this video today, rebuilding a 351C for a Panterra. I didn't see anything I took exception to, just some slightly different methods. He chases the threads dry, which makes them easier to clean out, which I like the idea of. Getting any lubricant cleaned out, even WD40, is messy and time consuming. I don't always use Glyptal, but will be when I assemble the 408.

I was curious about what he used for assembly lube, looks like something homemade, maybe using diluted Lucas Red and Tacky lube. I've usually used homemade assembly lube, going to try Lucas this time, unless I decide some things need a little thicker lube.

He has some better tools than I do, like the valve spring height tool, which is why I'm having the machine shop assemble the heads after they install the valve seats, guides, and rocker studs.
