Double nutting them, right?Ian,
That set up is a Crane Cams rocker stud conversion, the rocker studs have to be removed.
They are supposed to be in there with high strength Loctite.
A heat gun may help removal.

... they are within the head and a lot of oil, so they should come out easy, no rust.Yes , double nutting them. Don’t make them anymore , oh boy. Just started now to find the nuts for their removal, I’ll have to be as gentle as possible. Wish me luck and thnx for the advice and info.
I think Bentworker is correct, your plates are upside down.Interesting- looks like the pushrod guide plates could be flipped over to allow easy access to the head bolts.
