71' Grande project.
The time has come for wiring harness TLC.  The first counterintuitive thing I came across was this...

The source wire for the horns appears to be 14 gauge.  The jumper between the two horns appears to be 12 gauge.  Why the heck was larger wire used for the jumper between the two?  Some mechanical reason?  Anyone know?

Thanks- Peter

My experience with all year Mustangs are that the horn wires within the engine compartment are the same size/gauge.  I've never seen or noticed a difference.  The driver's side horn should have two wires going to the spade lead and they should both be the same size.

They ARE two different size wires on my 71. The jumper takes power to second horn, horns are grounded on bracket-no ground wire.
