My car came with the stupid clock where the tach should be. I thought there was a post about this before, but I searched everywhere so Im asking on here. I would like to see what others have done in this situation. I heard there is a guy that converts the clock gauge to be able to put the tach there. My one concern is that it is not factory. Even though i upgrade other parts to non-factor, I keep my old parts in case I want to change it back to full factor condition. But I am still open to it. But I was hoping there could be another spot to put it, kind of the fox body where you can buy the gauges that go along the window vertical brace. Any thoughts and suggestions and I would be thankful.

Rocketman can convert your clock to look like a factory tach. It's wired differently, but its only 3 connections. You do NOT have to butcher any factory wiring, and cosmetically you can't tell it's a conversion.

You will want a new lens for the entire cluster (it's one piece and that allows you to eliminate the tell-tale hole for the clock adjuster).

Otherwise, you can always mount a tach to your column (I did that prior to converting my clock). I don't have any pics or would post them.

This is a Rocketman's idiot light conversion. It looks just like the original with the idiot lights still functional.
I'm not sure IF you can add the idiot lights without changing the entire unit, but if you can, it will be worth it.
