I often tell people, "Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done". This is a great example of the truth in that saying. https://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/d/66-ford-fairlane/6648035396.html

Yeah, now he has to find someone who wants THAT.

IMHO, he would have been better to have left the 289 or whatever it had and sold it.

I'm thinking alcohol and a foolish bet were involved. I do have to say you have to have skill and determination to do that but, again, WHY? Chuck

I will be glad when all new cars are gas or electric/hybrid engines. There is nothing worse than sitting behind a old diesel engine in traffic. Toxic gases and a vile smell

I think its pretty cool. Took some work to get it in there. And it don't look like he hacked it all up doing it. Front end has to be awfully heavy though!!! But its something different. I would drive it!

From what I can find online, the Cummings 3.3 engine is made primarily for industrial use, fork lifts, etc., is heavy duty and heavy.

My wife and I had a small motorhome (24') that was on a Mercedes chassis and had a 3.0L V6 turbocharged diesel engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission. It wouldn't have made a bad choice for someone wanting to convert to a diesel, moved the 9,000 lb. motorhome along pretty well, about 200 horsepower and 400 ft-lbs of torque. The same engine was used in Jeep Cherokees when they were owned by M-B.
