I'm enranged

Whilst mousing around the interwebs I found this.

and...if I ever catch who did this, they're going to become an endangered species and right quick.! ....but that's my problem/ personal opinion. I find this behaviour a crime against engineering and a vandalism of what was a beautiful car.

Am I wrong??? ...my first reaction when I first saw this was " where can I buy a gun"

I don't like the look either, hopefully, it was at least a re-pop hood. I had a friend back when we were kids who had a real 69 Trans Am and he cut that hood open for a blower on a Big-Block Chevy that he installed in it. I wanted to strangle him at the time. I would guess that now that we are older and he has gone back to a Pontiac engine, that has no need for a huge hole in the hood, he would like to strangle himself for cutting up that original hood.

Overall, it looks well done. I've seen much worse examples of butchery. His car, his choice. I'm not a fan of the carbs through the hood look, but again, not my car.

If I was to be angry about anything it's the hood paint pattern being too far back...

That falls under the category of what was once called "street freaks". I was in two car clubs way back when, I had a chopped '34 Ford coupe and a stock '30 Model A Ford. The restorer oriented guys in the Model A Club didn't appreciate my hot-rod, and the guys in the "Gear Stretchers" car club thought my stock Model A was in need of modifying. I like 'em both, when done well. Had I had my Mach back then, when nobody really cared, I would have cut a hole in the hood myself , and huffed that bi-otch! I still dig a good "in your face" hot rod. That black '65 runs a 'cammer, belongs to friend Larry Knapp, and is a bonafide A/FX car by Holman/Moody.

It’s his car and what he does to it is his personal choice. That also leaves me with my freedom to choose not to like it. I keep my 73 as she left the factory, my personal choice. I can’t see altering a engineering perfection, I’ve always loved the look of the long nose.

There's nothing cooler than two 4's sticking through the hood of any car! I keep my cars stock but I rode in a car like that once and seeing the throttle linkage crank them wide open was unforgettable.

I actually did on mine - looks a lot cleaner. Probably not nearly as noticeable when you've got stuff sticking through the hood, though.
