My horns look wrong

I need to replace both of my horns on my 73 air-conditioned 302 car. Here’s a picture of my two current horns that don’t work. When I look online at replacement horns from either NPD or CJ, they don’t look anything like this in regard to the bracket orientation or angle. Do mine look wrong or are the picture is just not representative of what you’re getting? The Hi is on the left and the Lo is on the right.

Yours are correct. The replacement horns are oriented for the earlier applications. There aren't any reproduced for the 71-73 that I'm aware of. The replacement ones will bolt on and work as a horn should.

71-73 Cougars used the same horns. West Coast Classic Cougars sells used and repros. The photos of the repros look close to the originals.

You can get them rebuilt by a company called The Horn Works. I had them do mine and they are louder than before and they did a great job. Very pleased with their work!

The Daniel Carpenter horns I got from CJP state that the bracket will need to be rotated to properly aim the horns. The high horn has the bracket at 11 o'clock compared to your picture and the low horn at about 1 o'clock.

Thanks for posting the picture...my car didn't have horns when I bought it in 1985 and I was going to search for pictures for proper bracket clocking.

The paint on mine was peeling off like yours, so I scraped it all off. I primed and painted them.
