It's probably safe to say the VIN and the car do belong with each other. The "Mustang" script on the trunklid and the crinkle-finish tin taillight panel trim are both Sportsroof-specific details.

P.S.: Never cared for GM HEI on one of these things. Every time you want to time the motor, your hand instinctively goes to grab the coil area on top when it's running to spin the dizzy. Instant zaparoo!
