Tachs in 6 cyl cars?

Did 6 cylinder Mustangs (any year) come with factory tachometers? I am wondering if I need to include an option to specify a 6 cylinder when converting a factory tachometer.

According to my 73 Mustang sales brochure the instrumentation group was only available on the V-8's. Probably the same for 71/72's also.

71-73 tachometer was available only with V-8 cars.
