All,

2 questions.

1. What does the H ans C stand for on the top of the sensor? Hot and cold?
2. where do I place the leds for my ohm meter to test?

Haven't seen one like that; it usually just has a single post dangling in the water stream.
 
That's not the correct sensor for a 71-73 Mustang. Our cars use a single post unit. TS36 for warning light and TS24 for the gauge.

Other model cars use a two post sensor for other options, such as a "cold" light in the dash, or cars with Automatic Temperature Control system use it to disable the blower motor until the engine reaches a certain temperature.
