Love Top Gear. Not the American version though.
I agree...Like the brits would say..Our American version of top gear is rubbish!! And a bunch of bullocks!!..hehe...Its not as funny..They try...But it just doesnt have that same british dry humor...It would be like us doing a American version of Monty Python...lol..It just wouldnt be right.

100% right! The American version is too contrived and they recycle a lot of the British gags. Oh well.

The problem with Top gear USA is the TV in America is run by advertising. In the UK and other parts of the world TV is run by the government.

So for example in the UK you can get on TV and announce the Chevy volt is rubbish and then show a video showing the batteries in it caught fire and burned your garage down. If you attempt to show that in America first the TV station would pull it for fear of loosing revenue. second Chevy would be free to sue you even if it was the truth. In that way auto shows around the world have much more freedom to say and do things then here in the USA. This makes Top gear USA crippled from the get go, and mundane and pointless. it also forces them to copy the most benign skits from Top gear UK and forces them TG USA to use ancient cars that already have a reputation in the public domain.

top gear usa is through 2 seasons now and you can cherry pick every single skit they have done from the Top gear UK show going back over 18 seasons, this makes TG USA a horrible horrible copy cat and it will never have original content like the UK version. getting onto the characters in the show just makes it more obvious they ripped off the UK boys.

If you want unbiased reviews of cars you have to look outside of the US TV market and that is part of why TOP GEAR UK is the most highly watched show around the world.

if top gear USA really wanted to be a good show they would have to remove all the shackles from the cars and what they can do and say,,, since that won't happen you have to go to the internet and see people HOON on things and watch personal reviews on products, just another reason TV is basically dead if you have a ROKU box.
