I am setting up to do the triple gauge replacement in my car, my question is: are mechanicals better than electricals or vise versa? The electricals seem to be more expensive because of the sending units, but I'm worried about the oil pressure gauge ever leaking? Any input?

I was concerned about accurate readings after rebuilding my engine so I chose mechanical, i.e., cost was not a factor. I was also concerned about my oil pressure gauge leaking but a good install can reduce risk, (Autometer does sell metal tubing for their gauges).

I can understand concern if oil or temperature gauge leaked, my oil gauge is under dash but if I were doing the the three gauges in center console I would probably do electric.
