Well lets see, after breakfast I welded and ground, welded some more. Aired out the smoke for a while, ground some more. Ate lunch. Went back out and welded on the DS for awhile, ground some more. After 9 hours of welding, grinding, flapper wheeling..... ground some more! Did I mention the grinding? 2 floor and 1 trunk pan, 5 Lbs of wire. And have more to grind tomorrow!

LIFE IS GOOOOOD! :D

Well I just spent the day replacing the upper and lower conrol arms as well as the spring cups on the 72 coupe. It is the first time in 5 months she has been on all four tires!

Important safety tip...when breaking the nut on the upper ball joint be careful not to loose the skin on your thumb from the nice sharp disk brake vent cover...

Has anyone out there have a line on where to get the trunk deck filler panel (between the window and the trunk) for a 71/2 coupe? or am I going to have to break out the welder? They appear to make an aftermarket panel to replace everything but this one?

Anyway ...happy driving...I'll be there one day...

Looks Nice..I lost track of how many bottles of gas..wire..grinding discs I've used..Guess i could always check my receipts rofl

I cleaned the paint on the car yesterday and did some detailing. To day the plan is more of the same. Re-adjusting the timing and some further carb work is also on the agenda. I have a few things to do around the house too. Tomorrow it's back to work (to rest up :D ). I guess missing Power Tour had some benefit.

Just Ripped out the old wiring completely.

Currently reworking new universal kit in.

Few hiccups here in there. Nothing major.

Took a break this morning to sand down the seat boxes, got a haircut then got back to the floor. All but 1 piece on the DS and welding in the back seat on the PS. Took a break to prep the trunk pan for the tail light panel, welded some more then set the seat boxes for an idea I have about moving them back an inch. I'm thinking I probably need to extend the front frame tab they weld to about 2 inches. Any thoughts on the idea?

They make Marine grade butt connectorts that are fantastic for cars. Have a solder joint in the center and seal as you heat them. Been using them for a couple of years and have found NO CORROSION in any of the joints. Just need to buy a $10 mini torch and can of gas!

I registered & tagged the new M-code today. Let me just say top loaders are FUN to drive. :D
MAN YOU"RE KILLING ME! I'M WAY OFF FROM DRIVING MINE! Congratulations on the new member to the stable.

Bumped the timing a degree and adjusted the primary accelerator pump a 1/4 turn. Headed out to work at 6:00am on a beautiful sunshiny California morning.

Then freakin' launched it getting on the freeway with my foot to the floor. Let off at just over 120.

It felt nice to "merge" on the freeway at an acceptable speed. Better then a shot off expresso... although probably cost me as much in gas!

I drove mine to work today.
Got mine out and drove a bit and driving to work tomorrow. The lab has there annual car show, but hourly employees were only given 1 hour to participate. Thats after telling us we were not allowed to. I'm not dropping my car off to be beat to hell with me not there with it so 5 of us are driving ours in and parking in the main lot to protest. When they ask why we are not "IN the show" we will tell them. We found 5 parking spots that are sectioned off with curbs so no door dings.

After staring at the torque box rear seat floor plates I had cobbled I had to elicit my neighbor Bill's opinion and help in getting them right. First thing he said was we needed some flat good metal. Q-code #1 is officially retired from service!! Seat floors turned out great! (I don't have all the answers, I'm just lucky enough to know good peolpe who do when I need one.)

While Bill was fabricating I took the time to start lining up the next sections of this little project.

Dang - I wish I would've known you needed that piece (driver side rear seat 'butt plate'). I have one I ordered, it showed up late, and I discovered that I no longer need it.
