OK guys - here we go. :D

Got up this morning at 0600, trekked to the storage unit to wake up the Jeep - it wasn't having any of that (the little bit of gas that was left in it soured, and I didn't have time to mess with it). So, grabbed the camp chairs and went home. Loaded up the Mustang onto the U-Haul trailer and rolled out to the Rec Camp, stopping for some gas. I put in 10 gallons, and the fuel gauge is reading almost dead-on 1/2 tank (just a hair over - guess we were almost empty). As I was getting some breakfast and liquid for the day, I got so many compliments it was weird and scary... my usual reaction is, "That old POS?." But as I was walking out to the truck, it hit me pretty good - Holy Sh!t that's a cool car... and it's ALL mine. Wow.

The gas station was literally right across the street from the Rec Camp, and no traffic had me in a slot and unloading within minutes. Turned some heads, got some waves and thumbs-ups, and lots of compliments as I was idling through the main drag heading to the slot my pal Jim had coned off for me (since he got there earlier while I was messing with the Jeep). Backed it in, set it up, and had a great car show day.

Here's what we had to work with:

And here's what we came up with: Best In Class - '70-'79 Modified. ::thumb::

Don't tell my wife I posted that pic... she'll kill me. rofl

Here's a couple of shots after closing it all up that made me realize just how bad I need a new camera.

Huge boost getting it to the show, and winning a plaque was just icing on the cake. Still got a ways to go before I can drive it for real, but I'm lovin' it a lot more now.

Nice job Eric! Would you like a pair of pypes slash cut tips to go with your exhaust? (left side of the pic)

Nice car indeed Eric. I jetted up to 70 mains and it is running much better. I think I am getting close on the mains so next it is time to understand how the secondaries work so I know how to adjust that fuel circuit. Seems like it comes in too early to me and stumbles a bit before it gets up and goes.

Appreciate it, Bro! I actually have a set still in the box - I just ran out of time, and am planning on having the exhaust shop cut-n-weld 'em on when I have the X-pipe rid of all of the clamps in the next few weeks.

I also remembered that my pal Jim likes to have crank 'em up contests with his Jeep (it has a warmed up AMC 304 with true dual exhaust and 12" Cherry Bombs). He usually wins... but I think it might be time for a set of dumps... just for fun. ;) :D

Thanks for the kind words, guys! Couldn't have done it without ya! ::thumb::

Get a secondary spring kit, and try the next heaviest spring from what you have until the bog is gone, and you get a nice linear pull.

I mostly piddled this morning, but I remounted my Ram Air plenum and added a couple of aluminum "clamps" made from an old stop sign to fully seat the duct work at the flappers. I added a shock tower to radiator core brace and I intend to add one more brace from the other shock tower to the new brace in the near future. Cleaned up a little wiring and adjusted the throttle linkage/anti diesel solenoid so as to more completely shut off and allow a little lower idle.

I also listed some slicks and wheels on craigslist, hopefully they'll sell for enough to pay for the rear slicks I want this spring.

final touchs on a dyno tune and test on the dyno tune. Problem of getting marginal hp out of EFI unit as installed on a Cleveland w/hi performance Lunati Flat Camshaft and Com Cams solid lifters w/9.5:1 compression rating on engine, said rating of hp to be under 300 hp. Thinking when this O2 sensor went out of which was one for the unit rated up to 400 hp. Was replaced with the stock unit which only handles up to 250 hp though with 289 ft lbs torque because it has an Edelbrock 2 barrel intake manifold with the ported cleveland heads. Engine was rebuilt from q code to be rated at 350 hp out of engine. Whereby 3 runs through 3rd and 4th gear rated at 255 hp at rear wheels when SAE stock q code w/8.6:1 compression and hydraulic lifter rated by factory at 266 SAE. To be a valid issue to consider. Have to do further research if to find that suspicion to be correct. The Lunati camshaft is rated to handle at least 10.0:1 engine compression. This Holley 'Avenger' MPEFI has a solid throttle body 700 cfm 4 barrel carburetor. If research is correct, would think that between the same vendor of the Holley and the installer would be equally responsible as I put out 2000 dollars between two tune ups and if case as installer should have ordered same o2 wide band for further hp as on car and also on file with vendor for this specialty car. Does anyone else think it it could be something else. Current idle recommended by others and @ what dyno tune specialist has is @ 1,300 rpm in idle.

I have standard hoses to my ram air actuators. Is there any of a difference in air pumped to carburetor through them?

not sure what you mean. The vacuum lines are standard. What I was dealing with was the duct work on the plenum didn't snug up to the underside of the hood to make a good seal. As you can see I am not running a ram air air cleaner so mine isn't sealed to the hood, essentially mine isn't working as well as a true ram air, but my engine needs all the air it can get.

I had some trouble following your post but

SAE rated horsepower was flywheel and without accessories for the numbers you quoted

RWHP will be anywhere from 15-25% lower depending on transmission style and cars exact set up

255 at the rear wheels is about 300 FWHP

Not current on the EFI conversions, so I can only say the wrong o2 sensor could cause some problems

I threw a solid lifter .571 lift cam in a 73 Q code with a 700 double pumper, CC heads, and headers and hit 290 RWHP with a manual transmission in a near perfect state of tune-6 dyno pulls and the first was the best. That engine dropped a valve, so I doubled down on horsepower ;)

Went for a cruise today. It was a nice change from wrenching on her. I'm loving the way it's turning out. I had her at top of the drive when I came back home to check over see if anything odd going on. Decided to snap a picture as she looks so much better now.

Otherwise I changed the oil in the daily's SE-R and the 98 coupe.

Dropped her off at the shop for the transmission to be pulled out then I'm popping off my nails, tying my hair up, and going to rebuild the trans! I'm in need of an automatic gear shift assembly for a c4. Used is fine, I can redo the bushings. Any suggestions??

today I drained and replaced all fluids, it took most of the afternoon but it is now ready for winter lockdown.

Got the rear window louvers installed, ordered another USB/stereo plug & bezel for the glove box, found what I hope will be a good fold-down mounting bracket for the back-up camera monitor, cleaned out some of the giant cardboard "empties" from all the parts she 'made' me order [to finish the car]. rofl
