IIRC there is not much consistency even with factory cars when it comes to the placement.

Don't have measurements handy... I think I have them somewhere, but they were taken off this photo of my original paint (and decals) hood. Best I can do for now.

My 'eyeball' impression is that the distance from the hood opening is approximately the same as the thickness of the top of the duct insert - which I believe is about 1.75" (that's where I put mine - and yeah, I just measured it
