I have to wait until tomorrow when the rain comes and washes away all the salt on the roads. They love to dump lots of salt on the roads in RI.
I like to wait until there has been at least 3 heavy rains and sufficient volume to make sure it's all gone.
A couple of years ago, we had warm weather spell and some good rains and I was just about to get the car out when guess what, it froze again and the damn city got the damn salt trucks out again. I guess they just had to use up all the left over salt for the year!.

They operate the same way here, even if there is a rumor of ice. Got to use up all that salt. It will probably freeze again before it is all over. I am sure there will be another salt fest. lol.

Same here of course, but rather than get the car out too soon, still salt on the roads, I'm looking forward to getting my road bike (bicycle) out for the first 20 mile ride of the year. That's a short one by the way. I'm not usually riding until the end of April.
Had my bike out today "just" across Lake Erie along the South shore of from you!

Nice bike you have there.
Here's mine, still hanging on the garage wall. I hope to get it out soon.

Finished up the dashboard refresh today including a makeover for the rim blow wheel and a new heater core. All new LED lights from Bill at HiPo Parts and new carpet too. I also had Rocketman rework my tach and ammeter. This was my winter project.

Adding heat extractors to the hood.

Committed now.

Hopefully it will help cool the supercharger and header heat.

Have to duplicate it to the other side and figure out how to make up the 1/4” of gap on one corner.

I took my car for a 25 mile drive as it hit 20C about 70F in Southern Ontario.
Love this car all original and drives like new!
I'm still not taking a chance on "no salt", so I went for a 20 mile bicycle ride instead.
This is the half way point.

Got the wire wheel out on the grinder and went to town. Found some old rust spots when I was replacing the battery tray so welded in a new skirt panel and toasted the rest of the rust. Surprised how little rust there was for a 51 year old car. I got the full use out of the wire wheel, just some short bristles left now.

Back corners float so I will have to do some metal work, but the heat extractors are pseudo installed.

I like this. Might have to look at something similar as I have some heat issues under the hood as well.
Agreed. I can’t wait to hear how it works out.

Do you wrap your headers? I hear conflicting narratives on whether they should be wrapped or not. If they were wrapped I would expect a lot less heat radiating from the headers into the engine bay.

They are ceramic coated FPA headers

Prefer not to wrap.
