I did twice and no one answered, so strange though, every time I do a parts search for the 73 mustang it comes up with the 157 tooth flywheelI'd Call Don at Ohio Mustang.
True, but he needs to determine what bell housing he has first to determine what flywheel he needs. Being as he is putting in a 3 speed from a 68 (I believe) mustang and has a bell housing from I think a 72 so it could be either one.157t is for a 302. They ran a 10" clutch, which isn't sufficient for a healthy 351.
I measured and the bell is for a 164 toother, I found one for a 1978 f150 5.0, are car and truck flys different?True, but he needs to determine what bell housing he has first to determine what flywheel he needs. Dont most clutch kits come with one?Another item I just thought of, is the pilot bearing. Make sure it fits the input shaft on your transmission before you install it in the crankshaft.

I was looking at this one https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1523674&cc=1120790&jsn=10600, does anything wrong stand out?Yes and no.I measured and the bell is for a 164 toother, I found one for a 1978 f150 5.0, are car and truck flys different?True, but he needs to determine what bell housing he has first to determine what flywheel he needs. The 78-up F-150 used a diaphragm clutch, while the early Mustangs up through '73 use a Long style. Not sure if the 78-up flywheel will have the Long pressure plate bolt pattern on it.
77 and earlier trucks used a long style clutch and that flywheel was the interchange and/or service part from Ford (D7TZ-6375-C). This was also used in 77-earlier Bronco 302 trucks.
Rock auto has the Exedy FWFM116 listed under the 70 Mercury Cougar 302 (which never existed, as they all came with a 351 or larger), which will work in the 71-73 Mustangs. $100 for a new 164T flywheel isn't terrible.
