Sunny but far too cold to try and warm the garage. Thinking of spending the day thinking of ways I can create more work to be performed on the Mustang. If productivity is defined by being productive at adding more to try and be even more productive, then I aced it.

And now a short and entertaining break.

The new disty arrived today, Now’s the comment I sincerely find want to post, it would appear that Pertronix QC is not what I can’t say for certain ever was. This is only my second vehicle with their product and the first was a conversion back in 2016 and that was problematic from the start so u opted for an HEI type after that.
Meanwhile, out at the outhouse things were piling up.
The me disty is almost an inch and a half taller that the first replacement do not even a Windsor fitment .
Let them know it was wrong and I’d just keep the previous disty and work thru it here myself. Am awaiting the response to return things.
I’ve got an old Accel Cleveland DP disty hiding somewhere. I purchased in 1980 so, last I had it in my hands was when I was going to install it in my Cougar in 1983 but never did. it ended up in a box in my parents attic when I moved. They took it with them to Tucson and I had forgotten about it until we took the box in 2019 when they moved to Denver. We brought it to SC at that time so it may be in one we took to an offsite storage here but I’m running out of boxes to check. I doubt it’s anywhere but missing or it may be one of the boxes we’ve lost since SC. At any rate, it’s back to the drawing board.

By the way, the video, that was me after receiving my new peddle bracket. Just as bald and glasses to boot but, haven't been able to move near like that for 40 years.

So? Distributors. Arrggghhhh!!!!!

Left side, the new arrival
Right side, the replacement that arrived in November
Middle, my stock points Auto Lite.
For what it's worth, I sent both disty packing and going to look at something else.

While this is not intended to sound judgmental to anyone who's altered their ram-air breather housing, it's not my can 'o' beer. It took a great deal to put his back together and might as well work with what I have available.

That said, I'm looking into what can be performed on the stock OE unit I have. The last Pertronix conversion I had was on a 300 in-line 6 and it needed to be swapped for a HEI conversion that was far superior.

Knowing the HEI won't work for me leaves me with converting the Auto-Lite or finding something else. That Dual Point Accel I mentioned above is probably sitting in some Moving company warehouse between here and South Carolina or maybe elsewhere. If it was "liberated" from when we stored our move, then I hope that person put it to good use. I'll look at it like that person needed it more than me, especially since I hadn't purchased this Mustang yet. LOL.
