image.jpgHey guys, sorry I've been sidetracked. I drove by a building in town that went up for short sale. I couldn't resist from purchasing it. My wife is retiring in January and wanted to find a location to open up an antique shop to dobble in as a retirement project. I had to divert to its restoration as it neede a lot of work. Here is a before and after of that project. The mustera had to go on hold. I'm planning to be done on the building by Aprils end and back on to the mustera. Thanks for asking I will be back soon full force. I've been planning and accumulating parts so it should move pretty quick once I get back on it.

image.jpg. I know it's not a mustang, lol, but I wanted you to know what's going on and not loose interest in my mustera. Should be posting pics again around the first of May. I'm very anxious to get started back but kinda had to do this on a quick decision to grab the moment and the opportunity. On the bright side, we will be holdin cruise ins at the new place also this summer and it will generate more cash for the mustang project. Thanks again fir your interest.

Cool project Ray. I think that these mustang projects benefit from use walking away for a spell. Fresh eyes, clear mind, sweet ride! Glad to hear your going with blue as I will be as well. Just which shade of blue will be determined the day I go buy it.

My project is not nearly as extensive as you guys, but it is nice to step away and get clarity on the build and make better choices.

Ray, nice work on the building! I agree that it is refreshing to take a little break from the Mustangs especially when you put a lot of hours in a short amount of time into them. Great work and can't wait for May to see more progress!

I look forward to shopping at your wife's new business someday soon
We just got back from Nashville a few weeks ago. Went to buy a truckload of inventory for the new shop at the tailgate antique show at the fairgrounds. It's about 4 1/2 hours. From us here. Got a great haul. brought back a 22ft Penske full. Was a good show. I hope we can meet Jeff , someday, we're not far away.

A break is good but I'm very anxious to get back on the Stang. Enough with the plumbing , painting and stuff already, lol. I've got a lot of love to give that thing real soon. Thanks guys.

image.jpgFinally got back to work. Been a long haul. Spent a couple days cutting down adjusting and reinstalling window regulators and door glass. Also cut and reinstalled quarter window holding brackets and glass.

Also been working on straightening sheet metal and lining up body lines and Closing gaps. I lost nearly 8 months but should be spending 2 or 3 days a week on her for the rest of the summer.

Thanks I'm very glad to be back workin on it. Trying to decide whether to use the stainless drip rail moulding or smooth it out. Any thoughts welcome. Has anyone used CJs weather strip kit ? It has good reviews. I'll have to shorten the door stuff and won't need the trunk rubber. But still may be the best way to go.

The thought process was to eliminate the stainless, then sort of smooth out what's left ,it would still have a smaller smoother less obvious valley but still I think divert rain from rolling in the window. Thanks for the input I agree with downsizing it and loosing the bright accent of the stainless.

Hey Ray, welcome back. I just did the same to my drip rails. Got rid of the stainless and cut most of the lip off. Then it was welded all along the seem and ground down. It will do some diverting of water but look far better.

Most modern cars have no drip rail so it should be fine. ::devil:: Especially if you drive it like you stole it. Then the water can only go towards the back of the car :D
