image.jpgYou guys are killing me, I love those falcons. Here the rough in on my grill work with bezels

image.jpg

image.jpg

That's just a rough in ,needs a lot of trim work but it shows the basic layout. The hood is also gonna get a step out so nose is more pointed , sorta like a 69 Shelby had and more like the 69 ,70 stangs had.

Hmmm - I'd have to see what it looks like right side up. rofl
Ya sorry, no matter which way I turn my phone they get posted upside down. I haven't had time to figure out how to flip them after they're posted. I even tried standing on my head to take the pics . I think the camera gods are mad at me for putting dodge parts in a ford:chin:

Here is a couple pics I flipped.

If anyone else does more (as admins) or finds this a duplication - please feel free to delete. :)

image.jpgI decided to extend the hood out 3 1/2" and give it a point . I will follow that shape into the lower spoiler also. Hers a couple pics of the rough in. [/u]

I have also decided to fuseR the fender extensions on to the fenders and mold them in to eliminate the alignment issue with them also since I've eliminated the hood front extension piece I can mold it all in better to the new shape. A bit reminiscent of the earlier stang hoods.

Hey Ray , thanks for the help. It's a flipping shame I can't get it right. LOL .One of these days I'll sit and figure out how to correct the problem, meanwhile I appreciate the help. I've tried everything on the pic taken  I guess I'll have to figure out how to do it after posted. Sorry you guys have to lock and flip you iPads :shootself:

Flipped for you.

I have a question, how do you get this registered for road use? If this project was done here in Australia it would have to have an extensive engineers report before it would be allowed on the road.

See posts 43 and 44 on page 5 of this thread. About title and inspection.
Ah thanks, I missed those posts. Here's a photoshop suggestion for rear tail lights (I've always thought our trapezoidals look a bit dorky)

image.jpgI had to look twice to see that. Didn't catch it at first. It's different ,I wonder where they came from hmmmm ??

Here's a stocker same color. Still gotta look twice to notice the difference but they do look cleaner.

I believe that's the same car. I wonder if ithe lights are computer generated, photo shop or something I guess. Do they really exist?

It'd be interesting to add a 4th light inboard.

image.jpga couple of pics, been busy butt welding takes a lot of time and patience. With my failing eyesight and shaky hands LOL ! Still love it though. Stuck a mustang on the grille to see how it will look. Wish I could find a bigger one made out of billet alum . Haven't seen any. If anybody knows of a link for such a thing let me know, thanks. Sorry for the slow progress been fighting bronchitis , so staying home being lazy, no me, no progress?

Got some loctite plastic epoxy to day to fuse the different pieces of grill together. Hope it works well , never used it before. Then I'll just have 2 small seams to plastic weld in the center. Also been welding up some rust holes in the under carriage . There seams to be a lot of pics of that kind of stuff on the forum so didn't want to bore you guys with that stuff. Hey you guys from Ausie land , I met a fellow revhead today here in NC , talked for a long while he plans to come by the shop to visit. He's from near lake mcqueerie (spelling??) Toronto ? half way to the outback. Not sure I got it right , You guys know where that is?

image.jpgI have been trying to decide if I need to change the dimension of the quarter panels. But when I look at the mustang and the pantera side by side I like the look of the mustang better. The pantera to me give the impression of being hit or crunched up in the back so I think I'm good with leaving it the way it ended up after the section.

Looking at your hood center leading edge, then your front bumper, I am inspired with an idea of exceeding mediocrity, but what if you were to mimic the lines of the bumper's recesses into the hood sheetmetal?

Too much work to do in reality, but I bet a photoshop junkie could have a quick version put together.

It's never too much work to accomplish better. I have had mixed emotions about the way the hood is looking, I'm not feeling it. What you suggested may be exactly what I need to do, actually having given thought to a similar possibility. I have moved to the back again to allow time to think it over. I don't know what it is about it but I don't like it the way it is. Everyone's been quiet about this I guess out of decency. I am rethinking it and will play with your idea. Having been humble in the past posts you've made I appreciate the comment and was hoping someone would throw out an idea. Thanks I'll see what I can do with that after I divert for a while to regroup, :thankyouyellow::thankyouyellow:

I was trying to somewhat mimic the lines of the 71 Shelby, with remote hopes of perhaps finding a Shelby front bumper, what was I thinking? That's not likely. I've considered the possibility of fabbing a whole new bumper to match the hood. That's futal if I don't like the hood to start with. I hope someone else will speak up and share a thought. Thanks in advance for any and all shared opinions. Come on guys , hit me. This is one of the reasons I'm compelled to share this build.

Ray I to think the Mustang quarter is better proportioned it looks a bit like a panterera now you sectioned it anyway but doesn't look as if its been backed into something.

Oh and Toronto is near Port Macquarie just north of Sydney. When he visits tell him your Aussie mates said too stop bunging it on its practically the big smoke and the only bush is in his yard:D

Just throwing this out there: Have you considered rolling and shaping a piece to mimic the curvature of the front bumper, it's gentle flat spot in front, and the tuck-under? If executed thinner than the bumper, with a more gradual taper, it might work.

Then again, it'd be ridiculously difficult, but it might be what you're after.
