I know a lot of guys ask the questions. Rack and pinion, no shock towers, best spring rates and brakes....
After many hours of research I have come to the conclusion there is no better than Chris Alstons chassisworks A-Arm Crossmember with coil overs and very strong design. The more you look into this design the more you will realize its NOT a Mustang II front end. Its a totally redesigned concept. I'll be cutting off the front of my 72 after the rear end is done to show everyone how its done. For reference, the unit you want is a 33" cross member that gives you a 60" front hub to hub dimension. This unit is sold complete as shown for around $6000.00. Costly, but the best I have found.
BTW, the POWER Rack & Pinion is CUSTOM made and rotatable, meaning you can position the steering knurl to the most convenient location clearing headers and preventing knuckle bind. Also this design NO LONGER needs the shock towers and all the flexing and poor design flaws they present. Clearing up a full 16" of engine compartment room. Plenty of room for those new Coyote motors.
Once the front rails are stiffened (pictures to follow) this front end is stronger and flexes less than even the most braced shock tower design.
