Hey guys, I got my louvers delivered today and they look really nice but the gap at the bottom of the window seems a bit excessive. Can anyone post up a couple close up pics of their louvers and how they fit?? I will post up some pics tomorrow when i get back out to the garage. Just the gap seems way too big but maybe thats how they have to be to clear the trunk when it opens. If thats how they are then i will mount them on the car tommorrow, but if not im gonna send them back. Looks like about a 3 inch gap of window will be exposed at the bottom. I looked at a couple pics that Roy had of his but i couldnt tell how big a gap it was from the distance. Thanks in advance guys!

Kevin

Hello,Repro louvers????There are NO factory louvers, they are all aftermarket.they are short at the bottom because the trunk goes over the window when open. the 69/70 cars have panel that is a couple of inches wide beteen the the window and the trunk.

Not exactly true the set on my uncles car goes all the way to the bottom of the window and when you raise the trunk you have to kinda guide it over (slight push down) the bottom slat. Mine have the large gap as shown on coolblue

Here is a shot of my uncles. You can see the last slat is almost flat to clear the trunk but you still have to assist it a bit
Those are the ones I was thinking of. What manufacturer are they? Look better with the last panel at the bottom.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Mine are the same as roys with the gap at the bottom. Do you happen to know whos makes the ones on your uncles car roy?? I think those look alot better with the extra slat. Havent got a chance to mount mine, but if i find a set with the extra slat at the bottom i would buy those up and return mine. Thanks again for the replies fellas.

Thanks Roy those look like the right ones. I looked at shipping and they want almost $80 just for the shipping! HOLY COW!! Looks like im gonna stick with the gap at the bottom. The ones from summit were only 250 and 25 bucks for shipping. So i would have to pay 25 bucks again to ship them back. So those louevers would end up costing me almost 200 more than the ones from summit. That gap doesnt bother me that much LOL!!! Thanks for all the input guys I really appriciate it!

Kevin, how about this... If it's the look of the glass being covered that you're after, maybe try a 3" high strip of some dark (20%-5%) window tint at the bottom. Or maybe some black signmaking vinyl applied to the outside of the glass in that area. Might draw your eye away from the gap.

Personally I don't think it looks bad at all.

Back in my signmaking days, I did lots of those colored "visor" strips on windshields on trucks and wannabe ricer cars...
