Body Flex

Now I've done it. I'm in the process of swapping my FMX for a top loader and have had the cross member off for several months with the car on jack stands. Just went to put the cross member back on and discovered the body has flexed outward about 1/2" so the bolt holes no longer line up. Crap! I've taken the jack stands out and have the car resting on the engine crossmember. Then cinched up a comealong strap between the rails and left the doors open. Not sure this will ease the rails back in place over time. Any ideas?

Oh man! False alarm. Feel like a complete bonehead. I crawled under the car from the passenger side and got a better view of the driver side rail. Discovered another bolt hole just above and 1/2" to the right. Problem solved. Sweating bullets for nothing.

This car has been a bundle of surprises. Just discovered the PO forgot to install the separator plate between the tranny and engine and now I just noticed one side of the engine has a 73 motor mount and the other has a 71 style mount that's splitting. Yay, more work. Oh well, I'm having fun messing with it.
