My Car
'72 fastback, 302, Fmx
So I've had my car up for sale for about a week now and the first potential buyers came to look at it today. I posted the car with the understanding that a buyer will try to talk the price down. These 2 kids tried to get a $1000 dollar discount. They basically told me the car was worth $4000 if it was in the condition of cars that are selling here for $7000. Needless to say they didn't get the car, but c'mon do you not do research before going to look at a classic car.

the problem is not many people see any 70's cars as Classics, I have a few Freinds, that have 50's Cassics (56 T-bird, and 57 chevy) cars and a few have 60's Muscle cars ( Camaro, GTO, and Shelby), they dont even consider my Mustang a Classic, it just a 70's Mustang, with No Value in there eyes :(

The you should not consider them friends but just people you know. ;-)

I do research before I make just about any purchase over 50 dollars, especially when looking at a car. I think it's funny when people tell me what my car is worth because "they are a hotrodder and keep up on these things as they've built a 350 and bracket raced" or whatever else qualifies them. Any time I'm in the market, I'm sure to do specific research to the item. It's one thing if the buyer and seller can't come to terms on what it's worth to each of them, but sometimes people say stupid things speaking of value. In honesty I don't usually make an offer if my budget is more than 20% less than their asking price.

As far as the kids go, they've probably watched too many episodes of that Fast N' Loud show.

My 2 cents anyways. Or 1 penny. You decide.
