My driver‘s side door won’t stay open. I checked the hinges and the lower hinge torsion spring is just sitting in there. Is there a clip or something that holds in place?
thanks.

Is there a recommended method of upsetting the pin after installation? By upsetting I am referring to the smashing of the end so it is retained after installation.Hi there,

Sorry, not sure on doing that sweging procedure, as i have never done one before. Try looking on U Tube for help on sweging hinge pins maybe. Another Forum member may know as well. Off the top of my head, i would imagine blow torching the tip of the pin to red hot, then holding the pin with a set of vice grips just down from the red hot heated tip, and tap on the end of the pin tip with a hammer to compress or shape the pin tip so it balloons out somewhat. Is there a recommended method of upsetting the pin after installation?
