I've only run through a couple of c6's and haven't heard of a removable bell housing on a C6. It's most likely the same thing the powerglide builders are doing. You have to physically cut the bell housing off and add a ultra bell.

They may be getting that confused with the C4 which are removable. A very well informed mechanic friend said there were no C6s that came from the factory with removable bellhousings. The C6 was manufactured in Sharonville, Oh. I was selling that plant their welding supplies in the nineties when they were still manufacturing them along with the E4ODs. I was through out the plant on a weekly basis. Never saw any C6s with removable housings. Still have some contacts from Ford back them. They could likely confirm what my mechanic dude told me.

The C6 never came from Ford with a removeable bellhousing. C4 - yes. FMX - yes. C6 -no.

There are plenty of aftermarket companies that make bellhousing to make anything fit anything. You'll find Powerglide to Ford bellhousings, TH400 to Ford, BBF to C4, things like that.

No C6 ever had the removeable bellhousing . The only one I have ever seen done with a bolt on bell is by the Merkl's just converted one to fit a Godzilla motor , cut factory bell and used a converted Ultrabell
