Multiple Mustangs!
I had my yearly physical first of October and blood work and BP and all were good. I do not take any medications at all.

When I was at the Dr. I told him I have sore throat all the time and runny nose a lot. He gave me one of the quick doses of meds but nothing changed.

So I went back yesterday and they did a chest X-ray. My lungs are so long they have to do to shots will not fit on one pic.. So I got report back this morning that I have Emphysema and will head on over to a specialist to see what to do next.

I had been diagnosed with COPD in 2009 and quit smoking then. Testing at that time had shown a 40% loss of lung function. So I am sure will be doing more testing.

My oxygen level is always 98% even when I go hiking but can tell difference when exerting myself. I have one of the finger testers I carry with me when walking or hunting.

So I will probably start selling off some of the hoard here since nobody will know what is what. I just need someone to help move stuff around.

Still considering the Mecum auction for the 73 Mach 1.

Dave,

Sorry to hear the bad news. Whoever came up with the phrase " Golden Years" sure didn't know what they were talking about. As a ex-smoker I can relate to your issues and the worries of the lasting effects. I hope that they will be able to treat you with some meds and that all else is ok. Hate to see you let go of a lot of your parts and cars but hopefully they will get put to good use.

That's tough, David. Hopefully the doctors can help, better (at least more expensive, should be better) meds come out all the time.

Whoever said "grow old gracefully" obviously hadn't tried it. The mind still has all the same ideas and plans, but the body just doesn't cooperate.

David, bad news for sure, but please don't rush to sell your "stuff". It may take the wind out of your sails, (literally) but not the end of the world just yet.

Getting old sucks and as for the "Golden Years", to quote my sister-in-law, " the only thing 'golden' is your Urine!".

Take care my friend, you have many good years ahead,

Geoff.

Dont make any hasty decisions. It sounds like you are in pretty good health other than this recent bad news. Talk to the doctor about things like what you can expect regarding your activity. I have COPD as well. Had to stop running. Hang in there and dont be hasty!

David I have COPD also. I am on an inhaler. I just have to do things slower now, but has not stopped me from doing the things I like.

Still working on the Mach and a new project a 1963 Galaxie convertible.

Jim

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. I am not going to stop but I do have 15 cars and most are projects so I know I cannot do them all. I just could not pass up a deal in the past.

I have been racking leaves the past two days and I live in the mountains of WNC. Have had lots of cold weather into the teens. I killed two copper head snakes yesterday and a garter snake today. They could all still move pretty fast to be cool. I think this is latest in year I have found them out.

I caught a couple inside the home in past years.

Well back to leaves then make a haul to scrap yard in couple days.

I'm 72, never smoked [killed both parents] eat a horrible diet, work my butt off all day, believe that sugar and preservatives are food groups, and haven't been sick since 1978. Makes my doctor crazy. Dad always told that getting old is better than not getting old, and then he would laugh. Good luck and never give up.  Ed Raver

Good to hear your not going to stop but yes some things in life slow us down a bit

Reckon if I had 15 cars I would have been divorced a long time ago let alone trying to find the time to do them all

Hope you get back on track and keep those pesky snakes away!
